DESCRIPTION: This hike was supposed to be a 15km trail that passes Tower Lake to the rich, deep blue waters of Rockbound Lake. It gains 730m in elevation and there are many rocky alpine meadows as well as sparkling mountain streams. Once you reach Rockbound Lake, there is the option to continue and to climb up Castle Mountain.
This is a difficult trail which gains 870m and loses 230m as it climbs Castle Mountain and the north end of Helena Ridge. We made it out to the mountains, but never to the trail. Lets just say we had a few problems on the road.
